Anyone know if the GPS Sentry logs could also be used as evidence?
I always turn mine on every day for every journey.
I guess I might now have to include the number of sat's in view if thats a factor required.
On the downside, what IF someone got hold of these/any gps tracker logs and wanted to use them against you.?
Im sure there may be a few totally innocent instances of an overspeed which someone might want to make an issue of out. _________________ TomTom 700 GO user since Dec 2005.

Anything can be offered as evidence. It is for the courts to decide if it is acceptable though.
The issue with log files such as these are that they can be so easily tampered with.
That was the concern with digital photos but they are very much harder to manipulate without detection. A simple log file could be altered all too easily. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I read with great interest the Van driver's challenge to the Li 20-20
Do TOMTOM provide tracking records as navman appear to do?
If so this must represent a significant avenue of challenge opportunities to fixed penalty speeding tickest |

This was NOT a Navman GPS, it was Navman's commercial Tracking service which is a different thing entirely.
This is a business service which allows companies to track their drivers and task them from a central location. As such the hardware has a data link to send location data back to a central server.
Standard PND GPS devices do not have this ability. _________________ Darren Griffin |

I interviewed Steve Blackburn, European Vice President of Navman Wireless earlier this year. If you want to learn more about commercial tracking click here. _________________ Robert Brady |
