I put speed unknown as there are no speed limit signs in the immediate area and didn't want to confuse the issue. I live fairly local and I would presume the limit is either 30 or 40 (I always drive at 30 on that road).
If you read my posting correctly you will see that I said my initial co-ordinates were 10 to 15 metres from the correct place (the junction) as I was travelling when I hit the location button on my Tom Tom. I then used the Tom Tom co-ordinates to report my sighting.
I will resubmit my camera spotting using the hybrid map and if I can see the tyre marks left by the police car I will be absolutely spot on |

If the road is lit and there are no indications otherwise, it's 30mph

But he two sets of co-ordinates that you have given here are about 300 yards apart

Just like the submission map instructions suggest that you do.
A better description (If I have got the location correct) wouls be 'On the eastern grass verge just south of the junction between Aberford Road and Water Lane. A verifier can then see that the site is a viable one, as there appears to be plenty of room to park (from Google map, not as I would normally do, from a visit)
Incidentally, the heading is about 9 degrees rather than the 45 that you suggested.
@JockTamsonsBairn
Is that shower as in rain or shower as in Leslie Phillips' 'Absolute Shower'?
Keep at it, Keep spotting, Lifetime membership is not an urban myth. |

Righto. So this time make sure you put it down as 10-15 metres from the tyre marks and describe the tyre marks in the comments box - we normally need the brand of tyre to be confident.
PS, when you check again, do look to see if they've changed the speed limit from 30 or 40 to 20 or 50 (they'll have a sort of round red thing with a number on it hidden away somewhere). Remember the rules for free membership - "The first person to accurately submit....." Do you want somebody else to get "your" free membership for submitting a correction to the speed?
PPS Do the resubmission soon - this thread is on open view to loads of southerners and some of them might not hesitate to submit your coordinates before you do! _________________ Dennis

ok, new submission received.
it's at the junction with water lane! the first subs were nearer intake lane! hence why we ask for a description of the location - i.e. if your first submission had said 'Mobile Police Estate Car seen parked and using a speed gun at approx 8.30am on Thursday 24th Sept AT WATER LANE' then 1) it describes where it is (instead of just saying its a police car) and 2) i could have moved it to the correct location at water lane.
