GPS_fan wrote: | The biggest problems here seem to be:
1) MapShare is supposed to be for permanent changes
2) the mechanism for changing speed limits is somewhat fiddly and incorrect speed limits may be submitted accidentally
Then, of course, there's also the question of corrections being submitted maliciously to avoid people being routed along certain roads.
You do, however, have the option in MapShare Preferences to select only the corrections which you have made yourself and these errors will not be used by your device. |
The logical answer to this which knowing TT wont happen , is for the software to allow own unit speed mods , but not mapshare direct but to only share when verified [like we do with speed cams] |

Having the "Verified by TomTom" option selected is no better - their definition of verification certainly isn't the same as PGPSW and other people. _________________ Andy

For TomTom USA users, the best resource for TT help is at http://tomtomforums.com
There are lots of helpful people in there that answer your questions right away. A very helpful fellow in that community is named Buddharay. |
