As per a previous thread, if your C510 came loaded with miomap v3.0 on it, the main menu button does not function as per the manual states it should ie when pressed in cockpit, map & route info screens you should jump to the main menu screen. With v3.0 when pressed in cockpit it just beeps and when pressed in map or route info, it jumps to cockpit. The c510s that are now shipping with v3.11 seem to function correctly. |

Thanks ultrax, that accounts for that then, why say it does it -when it doesnt though? also if some are being shipped out with version 3.11 how come we cannot update ours to the new version? I have mentioned this a couple of times now about software upgrades and how do we get them, as the miosync seems to be for speedcams only and even that leaves a lot to be desired!!
Thanks again...Dil |

Hi Dil,
i only know this because i returned 2 faulty units to the retailer (could not get support from MIO), both had various things wrong with them and had v3.0 loaded. The new unit i received 2 weeks ago has v3.11 loaded and everything works fine, including the main menu button. As for updates, i am pretty certain that MIO have never put out any for their products. |

Hi again ultrax, thanks for that info, does that mean this unit could be faulty and that I should contact the company I got it from?
Doesnt seem too bad otherwise but if the function doesnt work it`s going to make it a bit of a pain when you want to jump from one thing to another.
Cheers... Dil |

Hi Dil,
i did not return the units because of the main menu button not functioning as per the manual (other owners confirmed their C510s as being the same), but for other problems such as the camera database disappearing from the flash memory when updating and maps being deleted from the memory for no reason. The second unit was completely knackered and had a red exclamation mark next to the satellite dish icon on the cockpit screen, and a red cross through it in the GPS screen. As far as i am concerned, i tried to contact MIO Support several times (one call cost me £7.40) but they just never get back to you, and i was not prepared to hang around too long having spent good money on this product. Under these circumstances i felt i had no other option but to assume the units faulty and return them. There are many clever, knowledgeable people on this forum, so it is always worth checking the threads as you can often find answers to problems and queries, but this sadly was not the case for the first two units i received. |
