Is it me or does anyone else find the Navman site extremely difficult to navigate!!! And then when you find what you're looking for you cant understand it! For a start it doesn't say that the GPS in this system is SDIO. Then it says the maps are loaded onto an SD card (doesn't mention anything about them loaded on the ROM). Whats the point of that - are there two SD slots? I doubt it. Its left me totally confused (admitedly not a difficult thing to do).
One question for you guys that have seen it - is the GPS software new (ie new maps etc) or is it the same as the PiN300? |

Darren, Mike and Lutz may be able to chip in with their opinions, but from what I understand it's not so disimilar to the PiN 100/300 but using an SDIO GPS. |
I think it has an integral GPS, like the PiN100/300, not an SDIO GPS.

If it is a clone of the Acer N35 (and it certalinly sounds like it is but has not been confirmed) then it has an
integrated flip-up 12 channel GPS receiver not an SDIO one.
It has one SDIO slot to accept SD cards on which the maps would be loaded.
The SmartST software is loaded into ROM thereby not taking up any of the 64MB of RAM.
If you would like to read up on the specifications of the Acer n35 you can do so here. _________________ Ian.

The Acer one does seem spookily like the Navman but reading about the Destinator software there still seems some issues with roundabouts - is it better than Smart ST I wonder?
Indeed, is the Acer a better bit of kit - it seems to be cheaper too? |

Any idea when a comprehensive overview will be forthcoming? The new Tom Tom Go5 software looks excellent - shame they don't do a similar package to the Navman PiN. |

Is it the same as the 300 as it certainly looks like it!?
The Acer one has bluetooth I think. |

You could always buy a Mio 168 / TTN5 bundle when it becomes available or buy a Mio 168 /TT3 bundle now and upgrade when v5 is released. The original PiN hardware is a Mio 168. I'm not sure what the 570 is based on but Acer looks likely. _________________ Darren Griffin

I'd still like to see a proper review or for someone to suggest an alternate / better product that still uses PocketPC |

Although the 570 has been released navman are completely useless when trying to extract information out of them Why on earth don't they have an upgrade path for those who have just bought ST V3 for instance?
I'd like pocket GPS World to do a full review of this device before i get one. is there an alternate PDA that still runs pocket PC software and a decent navi program that i might consider? |
