Hi n4nick,
You have the very latest SW version 2.7 which I've coincidentally just upgraded to this evening. I subscribed to email notification from Garmin but not received.
You will only get confirmation of the GTM software Version when GTM unit is plugged in and powered up.
Mine says (pre SW upgrade to 2.7) GTM 3.60.
Hope this helps.

Thanks ColinG
Just popped out to the car to get the GTM12 and I am now showing GTM SW3.6. I was hoping a lack of software was the key to my problems but obviously not! Too late to be messing around anymore with this now.
Goodnight! |

Software up-to-date (although I can't find GTM3.7 mentioned above) and message count ticking up in the diagnostics screen entered via the trip computer however still not traffic data available in the traffic screen itself! Fingers crossed for tomorrow! Nick |

So all in all,
this nuvi, may or may not pick up traffic info due to faulty power lead, aerial, or transmitter, if you do get the info it can be wrong, it can direct you down narrow lanes.
In my opinion I have been sold a lemon for £400, is watchdog still on the telly ? |

Interesting to note amongst other things like Estonian text language
and Croatian, Greek, and Slovenian Pre-recorded Voices the V 2.7 update contains
'Added fix for powering on from charge mode with GTMxx connected '
Is this the solution we've all been waiting for ? |

If you haven't already seen, there's a new version of the Nuvi firmware out now, which does have 1 minor GTM fix in it, so might be worth applying. |

Is this the solution we've all been waiting for ? | No, I don't think it is - this is a particular issue with problems if you, for example, you power down the Nuvi whilst everything is plugged in, and then power it back on - that's different to the majority of problems which occur on the first power up when you first plug everything in. However, it may still help, but I've yet to try it. |

(*) If a unit is no longer receiving a stream of traffic it will normally continue to display the old traffic information, which may result in the appearance of unreliable traffic data. |

I had installed the beta software which meant multiple stabbing of the on/off switch to get the unit to work followed by out of sync video etc, after the last upgrade this now seems to have been cured. |

I have installed the latest firmware and I can say that it does fix some of the bugs:
1. The car charger is now GREEN not RED when on charge
2. The MP3 play now remembers where you last were on a track - 2.52 beta did not.
3. The TMC now (in diagnostics) locks onto a channel instantly - although I have yet to see a traffic report come through (i was only sitting in my car for 1-2 mins, will try later when I go out)
4. I have a level in the diagnostics of 15 (on channel 1)
I will keep looking for other improvements and let you all know, as I am sure you are all as frustrated as I am.
Thanks

Been following the thread for a while, tried the update too.
Unit still fails to get a lock on a chanel (does hover around channel 30). Best signal levels are around another channel, but will not provide traffic data. I have discovered the unit has now picked up V-Trafic (europe).
I am in deepest Lincolnshire it seem ironic the unit can pick up v-traffic but not tell me when the A46 is blocked.
If I travel to Nottingham TMC appears to work fine
just one query, the power leas supplied with my Nuvi 360 only has a red LED, anyone else like this? |

My LED is red also; even when not powering the unit.
I've upgraded my Nuvi 310D to release 2.7 software. It appears to have made some difference to reception of TMC. Previously wouldn't recieve unless internal battery fully charged. Now appear to pickup reception when over two bars (ie half charged)
Hasn't resolved other issues I have:
It will route from my hometown to South of France but not to Cherbourg! Get routing calc error insufficient memory.
I also have a problem with searching for town names in France. I store French maps on the SD card. I think the unit searches base database first without looking at the supplementary maps in some cases.
Does anybody know what happens to routes when you upload them from mapsource to the Nuvi? I was trying to up avoid a road which is being dug up. Works on mapsource but route doesn't appear to upload to Nuvi.
Does anybody know how you can route via a ferry crossing? I've tried all sorts of things to no avail! |
