Anyone got problems with Fatal Exceptions after applying the upgrade? I went from the vanilla Nav5 to the latest on my Palm Tungsten T5. I had an exception when starting Nav for the first time after the upgrade, so reset the PDA and it then fired up ok. Since then, it just won't start up - I always get a Fatal Exception and have to reset the PDA.

I'm going to have to try to rollback to the original version just so I can use the thing! :x

i've had problems running tomtom 5 on my o2 xda2s, tomtom kept shutting down as soon as it tries to display an address on the map. i've gone to my old ipaq h5550 and it worked fine.

now the new patch 5.21 seem to have fixed that problem and i can now run tomtom 5 on my xda. the new problem is i can no longer switch to my north american maps. my usa and canada maps dont even display on the list of maps after i tap on the "switch map" icon (same problem on my ipaq). i'm going to the usa in two weeks and i would like to be able to drive around with my tomtom in use.

any help is much appreciated.

When I try to use the exe file it tries to install activesync first (I have teh latest build of 4.1 from M$); if I cancel it the update will not run.

I downloaded the .zip file and copied it to my sd card. Installed from there and it mentions that it will have to remove my previous version (5.1). It tries to and then fails.

I have a K-Jam but it seems that I will probably have to hard reset to fresh install; as it seems there are negligible benefit then I can't be a*sed...

Hi Peter Kessler.

Regarding the backlight switching off, follow the instructions from mtc right at the bottom of the following page:

http://forum.xda-developers.com/viewtopic.php?t=24048&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=25&sid=4d4ab93a964ec5d2d6e3bb5aa1806fb0

Remember it only works for 5.1 and you have to use a hex editor. I used HHD free and changed the setting that way.

The bad news is that it does not work for 5.2 so I will have to revert to the modified 5.1

Hope someone can help soon with 5.2.

Anis

Do the current Favourites stay after the upgrade to 5.21, or would I have to enter them again.

Currently using v5.0.

This sounds a bit to me as though you're not (or no longer) licensed for the US maps. Was your activation normal? Or did you do something else ............

Hi,

I for one would like to thank TomTom for their fantastic software. Before I bought this application my knowledge of PDAs and the Internet was almost zero. I now have a knowledge of creating directories and moving files around. Creating backups of the PDA before daring to perform any upgrades and even posting to newsgroups.

Without TomTom I would never have discovering this fascinating hobby.

I now have a fully working system and look forward to the next upgrade.

A very happy pensioner!

Dave

starting with 5.100, TTN 5 does no longer read v4 maps.

Try setting the last line of the PNA file to 567

First: Thank you all for your tips.

So, I was using Tomtom 5.1 fine on my PPC-6600
Then I got the 6700.
I installed 5.1 manually and it worked fine loading my maps, just wont woirk with my GPS.
When 5.21 came out, I did a full reset, installed 5.1>5.1>5.21

Now, it will not read my maps.
I have tried to change the 567, but still no luck.
Any ideas on why 5.1 did, but 5.2 wont?

Thanks

No, 5.0 did. 5.1 already didn't/doesn't. Ask TomTom why. Their reply will be "because we are old and we need the money". Wait, that was John Cleese...
