I have been able to install CA from Apple onto both my iPhone 8+ and my iPad Air, but when I try to run it on my new mini ipad4, I get the opening blue screen of CA, then it just crashes.
Can anybody please suggest anything?
Thanks |

Does your iPad mini 4 have GPS? The WiFi only model doesn't include GPS but the ones that have cellular capability (a slot for a SIM card) do include GPS. _________________ Paul |

My thoughts were to buy the new iPad mini4 for my sat nav using google maps in my Motorhome and somebody alerted me to CA.
I’ve tried it on my old Air iPad which is WiFi only, and it runs ok on WiFi inside the house. Yet, the new mini 4 won’t load (with or without a sim inserted). It runs the opening screen and then immediately crashes. |

Hi nearly50,
You say that you've already loaded CamerAlert onto your iPhone and also your iPad Air.
Did you register CamerAlert on all of the devices? You may have done this to you the latest database. You can only register CameAlert on three devices have you reached the limit?
Have you tried deleting and reinstalling the app?
The worst-case scenario is that you could mount the iPhone somewhere in view of the driver and let the iPhone run CamerAler in the foreground.

Regards, | Hi Robert
Downloaded twice but only registered once (to my iPhone 8+) so limit not reached yet (3).
Have deleted App and reinstalled many times - still crashes on opening
I get what you are saying about running the phone as well, but it is frustrating when the device I want it to run on, won’t. Yet, the old Air Ipad on WiFi only does whilst in the house on WiFi.
This would have been great working in tandem with google maps for my Motorhome, but no good if it won’t load/work on mini4. |

Reaching the limit of devices will not cause it to crash anyway. Just tells you that you have. |

It couldn’t be anything to do with the fact that my new mini iPad 4 is running on IOS 13.2 and that CamerAlert is incompatible with this version of software? |

I've not maxed out the number of devices for CamerAlert for a very long time. TBH I didn't think that it'd cause a crash but I thought I'd throw it in just in case.

Possibly, I'm running iOS 13.1.3 on my old iPhone 6s Plus and CamerAlert is running OK. However, there is probably a difference between iPhone and iPad iOS even if they're the same version number.
Unfortauetly, I don't have any iPads. Hopefully, somebody will report if they have managed to get CamerAlert to work on an iPad running iOS 13.2.
BTW, you don't need to keep posting the same post - once is enough.

Iphone 8+ 13.1.3 CA working fine.
Old Ipad Air 12.4.2 CA working fine.
Mini Ipad4 13.2 CA NOT working. Perhaps its the mini ipad4 that's not compatible with Camera Alert? That's all I can think of.
Sorry for double posting. Don't know what happened although I did try to edit my post and notice I cannot edit. |

I've just tested it on an old mini ipad 1st generation wifo only, running IOS 13.2 and it opens up perfectly.
Something tells me its the Mini Ipad4 and/or could be the fact that its is wifi & cellular |

If your old iPad (running iOS 12.4.2) has GPS and cellular then would you be happy using that instead of your Mini iPad 4? You can always 'tether' data from your iPhone.
Stating the obvious: CamerAlert needs to run on a device that has GPS, so it knows where the speed cameras are and also your current speed.

Regards, | No. the old iPad is WiFi only but I can test it in the house because I’m on WiFi.
It won’t work in the Motorhome as it isn’t gps enabled being WiFi only. I don’t want to tether it to my phone as it screws the data.
Hence why I bought a mini 4 WiFi and cellular as this is gps enabled. I just can’t get Camera Alert to run on it as it crashes within a split second after tapping the App icon.
BTW - I appreciate you trying to help me. |
