|

Subject to the Mods approval, it would be interesting to know if anyone else has this problem. I know that CAA_1005073406 has the same issue, namely:-
I updated my 2598lmt-d to 5.20 using garmin express, on update my digital traffic receiver cable in car would no longer work with a message on screen ' the connected power cable is not compatible with traffic' even though it worked fine before update.
I checked the power cable etc. and it still doesn't work. |

I know my 2599 doesn't have this issue but I don't think that that is under the 5.20 version.
I'll check my 2597 tomorrow morning.
Edit: Checked 2597 on 5.20 and it's fine. Wonder what else could have got in the way? _________________ DashCam:

My 2569 still shows the traffic power cable as OK after the update. |

There are different firmware versions for different models it seems.
After checking my 2599 is on 8.20 but the 2597 is on 5.20
I wonder if the affected units are looking for a GTM style cable instead of a TA cable? _________________ DashCam:

Those ending in 9 should be on 8.20, those in 7 and 8 on 5.20, although some later models ending in 8, and possibly 7, are also on 8.20. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I was coming on here to report the exact same problem. I updated my 2598 to version 5.20 and have now lost my traffic reception. Typically, on a day when there was chaos in my area! |

I went back to 5.10 and traffic now works fine. I've raised a support ticket with Garmin and they have asked for Garmin Express Logs and GarminDevice.xml.
I also told them that it works after reverting to 5.10.
Maybe anyone else affected should do the same. |

You need a copy of a previous gupdate.gcd which then needs to be placed in the .system folder of your nuvi. When you switch on you'll be warned you're reverting, accept yes. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Thank you. Anyway I thought I would try something before restoring back. I have just reset the user data on the device and Traffic is now working with version 5.20.
Hope this helps others. |

That's interesting because I did a master reset before using mine and traffic didn't work. |

Sorry. I should have made it clear that I have the 3598 model. When I first put 5.20 on I also had the message about the cable. Clearing User Data on the device has fixed the problem for me but I guess other models may be affected differently. |

Apparently Garmin have agreed that it is a software issue with 5.20 and will issue an update to resolve it. What's strange is that it only seems to affect some users, and in some cases it's resolved after a master reset.
If you haven't updated I'd advise waiting until 5.30 or whatever. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |
