|
|
I purchased a Garmin 1340T last year in France, after my previous Garmin failed on arrival in Calais. I have read that there are stiff fines by the police for any device that indicates where the speed cameras are located?
Is there anyway in which you can check and remove the speed camera information from the device for France?
Are there also the same restrictions for Belgium?
Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.
Regards. |

If you connect your nuvi to your PC and browse to the Folder named POI you can delete the French or any other speed camera info (at least the Garmin supplied ones) that you want, however although there was talk about making it illegal in France I'm not sure they have done so yet, have they? |

A quick search on this site reveals this thread which says it's Radar Detectors, not satnav warnings, that are banned in France.
If you use PGPSW camera warnings, you can put them on an SD card (if supported by your device). Just pull out the SD card before arrival in France.

| If your first is true, why would you want to do your second. |

The legislation has not yet come into effect. As with all things that involve the French, they have delayed the legislation pending discussions with interested parties. _________________ Darren Griffin |
