Let's split this into two questions, and get the easy part out of the way first
A good place to start to find POI files themselves is right here....
Go to the blue tabs at the top of this page - "Free downloads" - "Download free POIs"
Depending on your browser or computer, that page CAN be a little tricky though.
Once you've selected the country and satnav system, if it gets stuck and won't show you all the different categories at step 3, report back here as there are some tricks to get them to show.
The list should look like this:
Quote: | 3. Select POIs (date of last update : number of POIs)
Accommodation {2011-01-27 : 2787}
Association {2010-12-03 : 3539}
ATM {2011-01-18 : 12571}
Attraction {2010-11-09 : 453}
Bank {2011-01-08 : 7116}
Bookshop {2010-09-08 : 375}
etc.
etc. |
There's hundreds to choose from!
Some other POI sites are:
http://www.poidownload.co.uk/poi/index.php
http://poiplace.oabsoftware.nl/index.php?M...OIregister3.php
http://www.poihandler.com/overview.asp
http://www.tomtomfree.com/singlePOIfile1.htm
http://www.tomtomfree.com/POI_collections.htm
http://www.poiplaza.com
Now... can you put POI files on your Medion?
I don't know the brand myself, but it might be useful if you can tell us the exact model name or number AND what software it is running (eg Navigator or iGo)

I now remember that I think you need some additional software called "POIWarner" to load POI files on a Medion.
http://www.poiwarner.de/cms/index.php?id=3
I believe The POI files themselves for POIWarner need to be in either .csv format or .asc format
(which are both available from this site - in the "Select SatNav System " box just choose "CSV (Garmin etc)" or "ASC (Navman etc.)" |

You need to purchase POI-Warner as said in the post above.
But if you click my Sig below, it will show you how POI-Warner works, although that is for a differnt Medion. |
