|
|
For some reason my map display no longer displays my location and the blue indicator dot has disappeared. Not sure why, however I cannot find a way to reset it so that the location marker comes back. I have tried deleting and reinstalling the app, however this didn't work. Has anyone experienced a similar problem, and does anyone know how to fix it??? |

Guessing this is CamerAlert, have you tried pressing the GPS button which switches ON/OFF the location function? It's the bottom left icon on the toolbar.
The CamerAlert Manual is here.
If I guessed wrong then tell us what app you have! _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi Darren,
Thanks for your response, yes it is CamerAlert that I am using on the iPhone, sorry for lack of details. With regard to your advice, I have checked the manual and ensured that the GPS is on, however despite driving around, the camera icon has not turned from red to blue. I know my GPS is working as I tested my map directions app, which gave accurate locations of my car.
Not sure if its relevant but I have recently downloaded the latest software update for the iPhone, which can affect settings for various apps, but have had no problems with any others.
It is also possible that when the prompt that CamerAlert wanted to use my current location was shown, the "no" button was hit, which would obviously stop the GPS from working. Not sure, but that is a guess based on conversations with my kids!!!!
Any ideas? |

Ah yes, that may well be the cause.
Phone | Settings | General | Location Services You can switch 'ON' Cameralert there if you have previously answered 'NO'. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Now we know what the unit you're using is, I'll edit the title to make it a bit more descriptive than "Help".
While I'm at it, I'll also move it to the CamerAlert Help forum section, but leave a link to it in the original place. |

We've all been there! It's only irritating when people sit there stewing because something isn't working and they don't ask for help. Instead they moan to others and slate us
Glad it's sorted and if you do have any Q's please don't hesitate to ask. _________________ Darren Griffin |
