|
|
Since updateing to the latest software ( cant remember the number , how do you find out ? ) I have a couple of issues with my 720.
Blutooth connection to phone refuses to connect after a few days use. After the 720 has been connected to the PC it works ok but after a few days it cannot find the phone. The bletooth will work again after connecting to the computer. Am I right in thinking that the 720 restarts after a computer connection but only has a suspend mode when switched off normally ? If so how to I get it to reboot without similar to the post PC connection without loosing settings which presumably wouolf happen after a reset. Of course this is not a permanent solution to the bluetooth problem but might get it to work when out and not near a PC.
Second issue is to do with MP3 playback through an external lead. Used to work fine, since the update it is intermittant, sometimes OK sometimes playing. a few seconds or nothing at all.
Thanks for the" improvements" TOMTOM
Oh yes, and now it takes ages to find the sats |

Tap the signal strength meter to get a Status Summary screen showing the software version. Then tap the version number to get a screen showing more information, such as the map version. _________________ Anita

Thanks for the info
its version 8.351 and there is 12 mb ram free
never had any problems with the previous version and much quicker sat lock on. I think I "upgraded" to this version because it had separate fixed full line out volume. That bit is working, when the MP3 playback works. |

Sorry to report that I have NavCore 8.351 on my 730 and it works fine using Jukebox and Audio output to a cassette adapter. _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

What map version have you got installed? it might be better to install an earlier Navcore release depending upon your map version number (you can locate the map version number in the same way you found the Navcore software version - Mike |

Did you make a backup before you changed the software?
If you did, it's a simple matter to get back as you were.
If not, we can still point you to a download for the old software you were on, if you can tell us what it was before.
But PLEASE make a backup now, before you make any other changes!
A normal reset/re-boot using a pin in the tiny hole on the bottom of the Go does not lose any of your settings and is equivalent to disconnecting from the PC. |

The maps are 710.1661.
right now and probably for the next 2 days it will work fine with no issues at all.
But then the the bluetooth will fail to find the phone, the MP3 playback will give up etc.
Following a conection to Home on a PC it will work fine again. Is there a way to reboot/restart it without connecting to a PC ? And without using the reset button ( which presumably looses settings )
Or can I force it to redownload the 8.51 maybe it did not install correctly. |

Amazing - answered the question before I asked !
I have a backup of the previous setup. But I rather like the way the volume is controlled with the 8.351 and would like to try reinstalling that.
Thanks for all the help |

Looking at the map version you have installed I would consider going back to Navcore 8,010 as that was the last one that worked anything like correctly in my opinion, anything earlier than this and the RDS-TMC accessory won't report the delays correctly (if you use one).
If you want a link to download this and some instructions on how to install it have a read through This post - Mike |

ambaxador, are you using the RDS-TMC receiver that plugs into the socket by the line out by any chance?
That seems to give me problems like you describe. If I take it out and reset my 720 it all works again.
Dunno about the USB connected receiver, but the software seems to overload the CPU when using the non-USB version. |
