Hi i am a newbie to the forum so go easy. Right i have a tomtom go 510 uk map etc version 6.5 running app 7.9 works perfectly inc the important bluetooth to my nokia E71. I have now just bought a refurb tomtom go 710 with western europe maps 6.5 running 7.9 app, however the bluetooth connection to my phone will not work i have tried everything. Now as both units are the same running 7.9 it must be something on the western europe sd card which is causing this. This is the only issue bar me wanting to upgrade the map to ver 8.15. Im sure someone can help please???? |

Its always possible that the problem is a hardware fault and nothing to do with the software. Have you been able to get any other bluetooth device to work with it? |

Try removing any pairing you have with the 510 from the phone then go through the process of setting up a connection between the phone and the 710.
IIRC the 510 and 710 are the same in terms of hardware, only the mapping contained on the data card is different, but the phone might be confused if it still has the settings for the 510 stored on it - Mike |

I have tried 5 different phones it does "find them" but just keeps coming up with errors i reckon the phone settings files are damaged is there anyway of getting the correct phone settings for this device ? like i said it works fine with other device so that rules out the application |

I think the phone connection settings are in the files "connect2internet.db", "connect2internet.so" and "connect2internet.ver".
...ver is a text file giving the version of the other files.
After making backups of everything in case it all goes wrong, you could try comparing those files on the two machines and copying the one from the "good" machine onto the other one. |
