I have a new tomtom xl and cant get it to look for my phones bluetooth.
I have subscribed to tomtom traffic, but when I try to connect it tells me to plug in my radio reciever, and does not search for my phone ( both the phone and tomtom are compatable ) Ta Dek |

Is it a One XL with an SD card slot or an XL with no SD card slot and the newer circular mount that clips to the speaker on the rear of the device?
If its the old one XL Classic it will use the phone for a data connection but handsfree isn't supported, if its the newer units they don't have bluetooth at all the newer units only use the RDS-TMC receiver which you purchase and connect, there is no subscription required with RDS-TMC - Mike |

In that case I would give TomTom a ring and ask for a refund as you have subscribed to a service that your device cannot offer - the TomTom Web site should have known from the device type that you cannot use this service, so why it takes you cash is not really on.
If you have the RDS-TMC receiver plug that in, if you don't have the accessory consider asking TomTom to supply one in lue of the Traffic Subscription - you can phone them Mon - Fri 0845 161 0009 - Mike |
