Rather than rewriting this lot, can someone shed some light on this question please:- http://www.pocketgpsworld.com/modules.php?name=Forums&file=viewtopic&t=67755
Sorry it's in the wrong section. My main question is are the cameras on the map only when a route is selected or should they be there all the time? I tried both the supplied HP cameras and the ones from here and neither showed up on the map. Anything special I have to do?

Firstly is it a version of iGO8 that's installed on the 314 ?
If it is, then the cameras are always shown on the map, but you need to zoom in to under 2.5km on the scale bar before they become visible.
Has iGO8 populated the "speedcam.spdb" file with the cameras ?
Where are your txt files, should be iGO8\content\speedcam ?
The "SpeedcamUpdates.spud" is mainly for user added cameras via the interface, so can be zero bytes.
Also you don't get speed camera warnings in simulation mode.
Regards

Hi. Thanks. As far as I know, it is a version of IGo on there. There are three files in the Speedcam folder - one text file and two others including the one you mention. I have the unit boxed up at the moment as it stuck on booting and has to go back so can't look at it.
Do these also give warnings etc like TomTom and can you adjust the distance for the warning? They don't appear in the installed POI's and I can't find a way of editing them.
I did delete them and put the IGo pocketgpsworld ones in that folder but still got no warnings. Getting a new machine on Wednesday so will have a look then.
Thanks for any info

With the standard iGO8 they give a warning on overspeed or on approach and also a visible warning but you can't set the distance without modifying the sys.txt file.
To edit them you tap on the camera and use the cursor menu to edit the speed, direction of warning, camera type or just delete it

Again, thanks. Will try that on Wednesday when I get the replacement.
