My problem is that none of the instructions tell you exactly where to copy the files. none of the files it talks about are showing up in Overlay Settings! |

Copy the .BMP and the .OV2 files into the Map folder on your storage card. _________________ Robert.

Done that but they are not there. The folder path is \MY Pocket PC\SD Card\Great-Britain-Map
Is this correct? If so whats causing the problem? |

Are you saying that you have copied the files to the right area, but you can't see them now?
Are you using Windows XP on your PC?
If so, have you set up Windows Explorer to show file extensions?
By the way please update your profile location, and add a signature with details of your SatNav kit. It does help us to help you if we know your set-up.

Thanks for updating your profile.
Please list the equipment and software that your set-up comprises of. Please add this into a signature.
If you have copied the .BMP and the .OV2 files to your map folder, try a soft reset.

Hi Aeropars,
First things first, CheckPOInt is a third party add-on for TomTom Navigator 2.xx and 3.xx, You have TomTom HP Navigator 2004 which is a completely different product, which can’t use third party add-ons as TomTom haven’t released an SDK (Software Development Kit) for it.
Have you managed to connect up the USB cradle, install the MS ActiveSync so that when you place the 1710 in the cradle it always synchronises with the PC?
It should then be possible to unzip the database file, copy the .OV2 and .BMP files from the PC to the 1710.
Yes, your location is correct. I presume that you’re in the UK. Don’t forget that whilst we are mainly a UK website, we have visitors from all over the world.
