|
|
Hello all, I have a problem with my dongle! 8O
By which I mean the grey square thingy that comes with a wired tomtom 3 PDA kit. I use this kit with the Tomtom car mount and a HP 2210.
The connector between the dongle's wire and the window mount is loose. The black protective moulded covering on the RJ45? connector has moved down the cable which allows the cable inside to rotate and move about a bit in use, this exact problem caused the death of my last dongle (Which was replaced under warranty) I don't want to have to go through that hassle again , is there any fix for a dodgy dongle?
Any thoughts happily accepted!!!

You could probably fix this easily if your remove the shell of the car kit (but by doing that you invalidate the warranty) I would recommend that you call tomtom to get it repaired. _________________ Regards

I had the same problem ..I fixed mine by sliding the cover down the cable and removed the old glue ..then I slid it back to the correct position over the connector then inserting a jewellers screw driver between the cover and the cable and gently levered a small gap and squirted a drop of instant glue in there and whipped out the driver .. then repeated the operation at 180 degrees ..Its been OK for a few months now!!
