|
|
I have loaded TOMTOM software and UK maps from scratch on to a new Viking 512mb SD card which works fine. I loaded several POI's including the speed cameras, petrol stations, etc. and that was working fine too. But when i loaded the POI postcodes of Anglia, TOMTOM could only see the 13 out of 15 files athough i could see that they were on the SD card via windows explorer on my PC. I tried adding more files to the card, but when i switch the unit back on, they are not to be seen in the POIs. The SD card is not full and i did format the card initially. It seems like it can't see files over a certain amount of space on the card. Any suggestions? |

There's a limit to how many add-on POI files it can cope with - something like 40.
How many ov2 files have you loaded onto the SD card? |

Looks like that was the problem. I did have more than 40 ov2 files. Will TOMTOM allow more than 40 ov2 files in the next update? |

You can reduce the number of PoI groups loaded by using the consolidated set from Tim O'Donnell |

sgould, i've noticed you've advised people to use the FAT or FAT16 format not FAT32 when formatting a new SD card because TOMTOM won't read it. Well, i've formatted my new 512mb card in FAT32 and it works as normal. Infact my original TOMTOM SD card is in FAT32 format. |

I stand corrected!!
My 512 card worked out of the box. I was repeating advice given by others.
