i am a ttg owner as well as having the pioneer x1 sat nav system in my car. Speaking with pioneer today (who own a large % of tele atlas) i was told that a new updated map was being released for the x1 in March. I asked if they new anything about the ttg and was told there would be a map update for them as well end of March!!, and that he had seen and tested both trial versions. no other details where forwarded |

if i was to hold off and wait till say april to buy a tomtom go, would that mean it would come with the updated maps? instead of me buying one now and then having to buy the new ones when they came out?
Thanks |

Nothing to gain by waiting. Since TomTom don't identify which map version is in the box, how will you know you have the latest version?
Unless and until TT declare that the map update will be free if you buy after a certain date you will have to take a chance.
Or wait till August and reduce the chance of getting old stock. |

Does anyone know of someone who has made it a condition of purchase of a TomTom GO that it should contain the latest available versions of the map software and/or firmware?
Just interested...
