Is it possible to locate a regular cellphone (not PDA) that has a GPS receiver built into it on a map? If yes, what programs/websites allow that? |

As far as I don't think you will find a GPS/PPC/Phone as an all in one package.
But you could get a Siemens SX45 GSM Pocket PC which is a PPC with a CF card slot so you could add a CF GPS module to it.
Good luck with your search! _________________ wibble |

When you say locate, are you trying to triangulate a mobile phone to a map from a website to work out where it is, or are you trying to find a GSM phone that has a GPS and map built in ? Sorry but your question can be read two ways.
If you're looking to triangulate where a mobile phone is you can use cell location (not overly accurate) or there are GPS tracking devices (personal ones) that can be bought at around £500 and the person you want to track eg a family member can take this with them.
If you're actually looking for a combined GPS and mobile phone, then Garmin do the NavTalk GSM
But you'll pay a premium for it! |

Dave: Thanks for the reply. I am looking to triangulate where a mobile phone is. The situation is as follows: I have a cellphone that has GPS built-in for 911 emergency calls, so that 911 service can locate the phone if I am not answering, or I don't know where I am. But the feature can be configured to receive GPS signals constantly. So what I want is to find my cellphone on a map on a PC (not on the cell) using that GPS if possible. |
