Just found the new D3 Europe website :
http://www.destinatoreurope.com/en/index.php?id=00
It mentions a professional version out soon - that allows import of POIs, links to TMC and a natty thing to log mileage for German tax rules.
It alludes to a pricing model in the press release, but no more details than that - I do hope there is a free upgrade... |

We've been monitoring this "professional " version since a while, but so far not much has come over from Germany. Overall the HSTC release policy is a little nebulous, and the german and Israeli subsidiaries are pretty much doing their own thing. _________________ Lutz

Got this from the German support today :
it is true, that there is a free Upgrade available for Destinator 3 clients.
>You can choose, whether you select the Upgrade CD (this will be mailed to
>you from Canada),
>or download our free Upgrade from the <http://www.destinator1.com>
>www.destinator1.com homepage.
>
>I recommend you to upgrade your 3.054 version to the 3.065. By this means
>many problems will
>be solved. Unfortuantely the Upgrade to 3.075 is not yet available. It might
>be avialable by the
>end of the month.
>
>The import of POI will only be possible with an Upgrade to our Professional
>version. For further
>information you can as well check on our homepage wwww.destinatoreurope.com
It's a worry to me when they mention "upgrade to OUR professional version" - have they split away software development and are in fact developing it on their own (similar to Kane?).
And they are not still saying what is fixed between releases. |

Bit of a cheek charging money for the upgrade - and I bet it's not an upgrade but another install that will wipe out your previous settings and POIs.
Some good new features though, does anyone know if you can say "show me the nearest xxxx" from your own POIs rather than just being able to navigate to one? |
