Good to see you loaded up the Gatso databases without any problems. _________________ Ian.

e_d_d_i_e, could you tell me if it's possible to look up the GPS coordinates for a given street address in the SmartST V3 SW (without visiting the locations, that is).
This is possible in the latest TomTom SW and is very useful if you want to create a custom POI list from an address list in e.g Yellow Pages. Without this feature you have to drive all over the country yourself to store the POIs...
Best regards,
Ulf
PS: No news from anyone about the PPC version of SmartST V3? |

Simply tap and hold on a street until the menu appears, tap the street name and the lat/long of the position tapped is displayed in the same format as that in TomTom. Okay eddie - I might be really thick but I can't work out which file to download from the safety cameras site. Under Navman, the 510 is supported, but there's no file to download. Eddie, Dave? Someone help! What do I do? (Really slowly now guys - for the dummies!) |

Follow this link and look just above the red writing. Click on where it says "Download the current database here" and "Save" to the directory of your choice. _________________ Tim |

|
|
I'm now the owner of a 510 (arrived this afternoon), partly follwoing your comments on this forum.
I'm trying to upload the speed camera POI's. I've edited the csv file (to remove the header), and it appears in the POI editor, but after selecing send to device up comes an error message along the lines of 'can't find index file' or similar. Any ideas where I'm going wrong?

Try it again and report the exact error message please. Also, what App. did you use to strip out the header? _________________ Tim |

Have tried again. It actually says: "No POI's found in input file". I just edited the csv file in notepad. |

Hi,
If the exact error message is 'No POI's found in input file' then the problem is the descriptions fied entries are not enclosed in quotation marks.
I.e. "GATSO:1"
The descriptions field MUST be enclosed in quotes for the POI Editor to download them to your device.
Open the csv in Notepad to check the quotes are there. _________________ Ian.

Did you strip anything else out? You might need to. The file format is critical for the iCN 510.
Long, Lat, "Name"
Note the inverted commas. If there are extra ones POIEditor will read the data in but won't send it to the device. You can use find and replace in Notepad to stripout the extra stuff. _________________ Tim |

No, they're not there. Does this mean I will have to edit each line? Surely note ... this is the file downloaded from this site. What do you do? |

Hi Paul
Instead of the CSV try the following file which you can download off my webspace - it is the ASCII file that was created by taking the OV2 file (designed for TomTom) and converted into ASCII format by POIEdit.
See whether you get the same error message or not.

If they are not there, try opening the file in POIEditor, then saving it in that programme again, and have another look. _________________ Tim |
