Such a shame, all expectations dashed in a moment
Oh! Well, back to the drawing board. |

I have not yet updated to iOS 11 but have updated the app. GPS issue not present (options in Location Privacy settings are Never and Always). |

As an aside to this, and it’s not going to be any help to those with iOS11 on their phones, but I’m still yet to update my iPhone SE from iOS10.3.3, and the “new” app still works as it should on that, but I’m getting the same as everyone else on my iPad on iOS11.

Same here.
No gps lock. Have checked background app refresh area. There’s nothing there.
I have also checked location services. It seems to be on always.
Supposed to be driving 300 mile trip next week 😒[/img] |

At least we are going in the right direction. All new APPs etc can and do have bugs in them so let’s hope this one (GPS) is sorted quickly.
When it did load at first install I did notice that annoying female voice telling me to update my database - this needs users to be able to switch this off once and for all.
Anyways, quick fix is needed guys. 🤡🤡 |

Why would you not want to be notified of a database update? |

The database gets updated virtually every day and surprisingly I’m able to update my APP all by myself. The annoying female voice only comes once a week and as I’ve said, I am intelligent enough to do it without a reminder.
What I am saying is give us, the users, the ability to switch the reminder off. For those users who can’t remember to update it themselves, they could leave it switched on. Simple 😤😤😤 |

Try deleting the app off your phone and re-installing it - It worked for me

The ‘annoying reminder’ is a weekly notification on a Wednesday evening. :D |

I'm very happy to see the new version in the app store and I'm confident that the GPS issue will be resolved soon.
One thing I've noticed, it no longer automatically starts TomTom for me and in fact TomTom is no longer listed in the "On startup also run" section, all I have there is "Nothing" and "Maps".
Regarding the database updates, I believe they happen weekly, not daily and I'm happy to have the reminder. I don't see the point in having to manually check for an update when there's something that can tell me when there's a new version of the database.
Although I can't really understand why someone would want to be able to turn off that alert, it would be nice to have a shortened version, like the shortened warnings we have for cameras. Just a simple 'update required' voiceover would be sufficient really.
I appreciate the work that's gone into this, I'm pleased to see it's been updated and look forward to the GPS fix. This database is still the absolute best that's available. |

Same issues with me, no warnings when using with TomTom Go Beta, nothing showing up in Background App refresh and location services "always on". Only seems to get a gps location if the app is running/showing on screen but it mutes music/podcasts that are playing via usb or bluetooth connection. |

Everyone to their own.
Regarding checking the database & the female voice - I check on a Thursday morning so that’s why it reminds me then.
Regarding why understanding anyone who would want to switch off the annoying voice then look up the forums and you’ll see I’m not alone.
Regarding weekly updates - then check again & you’ll find they update regularly throughout the week.
All I’m asking is to give the ability to switch the female voice off; personal preference, what’s wrong with that?
Regarding manual updates - get a life. If I’m travelling g mid week I’m not going to wait until Thursday (Wednesday evening I’m sorry) to check on new cameras.
Makes me wonder sometimes if folk can use this APP properly at all. |

We're aware (painfully) of the no GPS issue in the latest update and are investigating as a matter of urgency.
Why it has happened I cannot say, I personally tested the app prior to submission using the GM release of iOS11 and all was well, clearly something has gone awry in the interim, be that a bug in our app that only crops up with the full release or something else entirely.
We'll save the autopsy for later, for now we need to locate and fix the issue and submit an update to Apple.
We're really sorry this has happened, but we will fix it. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Thanks for the explanation Darren. Fingers crossed that the ‘fix’ can be sorted easily. Keep up the good work.
