Exactly. I've been wrong before but I suspect something else is the issue here, not that somehow Garmin have disabled 3rd party speed camera files.
I assume Proximity Alerts setting is set to On? _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

If it is the @ and it looks for certain keywords then that can be bypassed.
As said though, this would not be the first time Garmin support have got it hopelessly wrong.
I do hope Garmin haven't been so shortsighted to force all future owners down their out of date, little blue dot and pathetic bong on them.
The number of people using third party cameras must be so small as to not be an issue. _________________ DashCam:

Picking up a DriveSmart over the weekend, Halfords selling some ex display models for £90 so couldn't resist. Allows me to get up to speed with the Drive range _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

i updated my driveluxe 50 last week and still got the pgpsw cameras working on it, so looks like they haven't disabled it on the earlier models yet.
i would be surprised if garmin did remove the option fully, but if they did and you did have to rely on speedcams, the cheapest solution is to use the smartlink ones as lifetime licence, which garmin say are the same as the ones you would download to device through express and have to pay yearly for.
i'm waiting for my Nexus 6 to be repaired and once done this will go back in to circulation for cameralert. |

I'll hang on for more info on the camera POI issue first. Early days. _________________ DashCam:

And if you have the relevant update file. I try to keep all copies of my update files, recently had to revert on my Montana as the latest update for that changed the way you woke it up, and I preferred the previous way it worked _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

@sealion

Not yet. I was thinking that even if it does work, how does that help me with the Driveluxe 51. I am not in the least rubbishing your suggestion but trying one file will not help if, by the nature of the beast, it will require continued updates.
What I would be really interested in, is, if you would be kind enough to post, the results of your findings with the Drive series model you are getting from Halfords.
Just an addendum, the Tech guy had to get the answer from his superior regarding the non-working of Third Party cameras. He did not know himself of the problem and had to have it confirmed by higher management. |

Don't follow you. IF you have a POI file that works on your Nuvi we then know for sure there is nothing wrong with the file. If it then doesn't work in your Drive we at least know it's not a file issue. At the moment we don't know whether it's a file issue or a Drive issue.
The model I'm getting is a DriveSmart 50lmt-d so won't resolve this issue unfortunately. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Went out to test my old Nuvi to make sure Pocketgpsworld camera file worked or not. It worked fine.
Next put in to Driveluxe and tried again. Did not work. This would indicate that it is something in the Driveluxe and not a faulty or corrupt file. |

Well that helps, we now know it's not the file
Is the Proximity Alerts setting set to On in Settings, Driver Assistance?
If you do a Where to, Categories, Custom POIs (not sure exactly how you get to that on a Drive) do the camera locations show? Are you able to select and navigate to them? _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

I have a Driveluxe 50 and my PGPS cameras are talking to me fine. I did turn off the already installed Garmin ones though...... |

Plus I use the convertor program to tweak the settings before loading them in. |
