Recently bought a TTGO 61 Noticed that speed cameras don't show if I have no route planned I often just drive from a to b without setting a route. Is this normal? or do i have my settings wrong?
Camera settings are all set to warn
Would appreciate any help on this issue |

In the settings uncheck "Warn only if POI is on route", otherwise if you haven't set a route it won't warn you! _________________ Anita

Really? I'm sorry I can't help then, as I'm not familiar with the GO61 and every TomTom model I know has that option.
Unless you mean the TT cameras and not the PGPSW ones, in which case does the online manual not help? There's a link to download it here. _________________ Anita

Thanks Anita for your feedback, have been through the manual and can find no reference to my issue and have found out that the life time camera updates are not poi's and maybe that's why they don't show up or have the option if a route is not planned. I find this quite frustrating, speed cameras and warnings should be there to protect at all times in my view. I would not have bought this go61 if i had known that it had this issue. |

My only suggestion is for you to subscribe to this website and download the PGPSW speed cameras, which are far superior to the TT offerings and work out at under 40p a week. _________________ Anita

Yes i could download PGPSW speed cams ? one of the reasons I bought the go61 was life time cameras and map updates so i didn't have to pay every year for updates. I have contacted support and raised the question ,but as yet have not responded.
Thanks for your feedback I will let you know the outcome should TT support respond. |

Why not just set a route each time?
Then you have got your speed cameras and traffic and re-route if needed - if not just ignore the directions
Otherwise you should have bought a Speed Camera Detector with GPS Speed Cams built or or a suitable phone app, not a Sat Nav unfortunately _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

I'm guessing, but isn't the GO61 one of those super new improved models where you can't download POIs and can't do any fiddling with any settings? The UPGRADED satnav. _________________ Dennis

That's right - but he is looking to use the included database anyway, so adding POIs isn't the issue in this case _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

I'm sure you're right, Dennis but, due to the ridiculous TomTom numbering system, I never know which are new models. Sorry if I have misled the OP. _________________ Anita

I think the next new model will be the GO135. _________________ Dennis

It may also be called the GO ONE, or even just GONE!
