Well, with the price of oil dropping to rather less than the $110/barrel (now $33), and thus the revenue that Alex Salmond was relying on to balance his books, they have to get the money from somewhere. |

As much as I hate the Garmin overspeed bong I think I would use it up there. _________________ Satnav:

This is long overdue for the whole of the UK. It is ridiculous that so many drivers think the speed limit is 35mph, not 30, or 79, not 70. _________________ Dennis

And that includes the Police!!! Driving along the motorway in the outside lane with no blues and exceeding the limit. Also, plenty of the Astras leaving the station at beginning of shift regularly exceeding the limit. Hope they all slow down too!!!
I can see a big increase in GPS enabled dash cams to fight this 1mph over malarkey.. The treasury will get richer, the Police won't benefit as much from is as they will expect. _________________ Garmin Drivesmart 51 LMT-D Europe |

Note that the emergency services do not have to use blues etc to exceed the speed limit. The exemption applies whether using blue lights or not.
Most of the training on my blue light course was done simply through being asked to 'make progress' so that we could drive safely at speed without lights, the premise being that whatever you do has to be safe regardless of whether warning systems are being used or not. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |
