Then I'm not sure what is happening ... may be worth calling Garmin Product Support on their Freephone number 0808 238 0000
@xtraseller Under those circumstances it would still show that the correct cable is connected, here it isn't even doing that. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

Not a 3598 but I've just tested mine.
With no cable connected I get exactly the same as you. Once I connect the cable and the charging symbol shows it has power the 'tick' in the compatible box appears within about 20 seconds.
3 possibilities:
Cable is broken (check pins on cable and device)
Power end is not making connection in car (check unit is charging)
Device has an error
If no signal is being received then the display will show compatible cable connected but the display for subscriptions will never change from 'searching for providers' _________________ DashCam:

Garmin are now offering me a replacement (not specified whether that will be new) for £19.99 as it is over 12 months old |

Thanks for all your help |

Both were traffic cables? If so then certainly seems like one was faulty. _________________ Where there's a will ... there's a way. |

What you need to watch these days is that some car manufacturers use deep power sockets.
I have 2 car USB plugs. One works one doesn't because even when fully inserted it doesn't reach the bottom.
Also check if the bad lead has a fuse that has blown. _________________ DashCam:
