|
|
Since upgrading to the latest Ford Fiesta with inbuilt Sony SYNC technology, I've been unable to use the CameraAlert app on my iPhone4 IOS7.
The symptom is that instead of a message, the phone attempts to make a phone call at every alert.
Can't see anyone else asking so maybe I have a mis-setting somewhere? |

Works fine in my Ford Focus with Sync
Make sure that under
Settings "Cog" icon
Warnings
Audio Route
you have the musical notes (left hand icon above "None") selected and not the right hand Bluetooth earpiece icon (above "Fade") |

Can't test it yet, but your diagnosis appears to be spot on in that I had the righthand icon selected.
I'll assume it's correct and wish you many thanks for helping me! |

No problem but please let us know when you've tested it too! |

OK, have just tested and the phone dialling has gone away. Only problem now is that I'm only getting visual alerts and not sound alerts through the SYNC system.
Current settings are:
Relative warning volume: Full
Audio route: 1st (music note)
Music control: None
Pre-warning: None
Warning Sound: Alert
Shortened Warnings: On
Over Speed: None
All Clear Sound: Alert
Can see a couple of possible changes, but can you advise on what you use on your Focus SYNC please? |

I use
Current settings are:
Relative warning volume: Full
Audio route: 1st (music note)
Music control: Fade
Pre-warning: None
Warning Sound: Male voice
Shortened Warnings: Off
Over Speed: None
All Clear Sound: None
But bear in mind you'll only hear alerts if you have sync unit set to Aux and you select BT, Line In or USB depending on how you play music from your iPhone. If the sync is off or set to radio/cd etc you won't hear anything. |

Really it's only the Audio Route setting you need to change and bear in mind you'll only hear the alerts with sync in Aux mode. |

My son is getting a Fiesta with Sync and has an iPhone (5 or 6, I think). I subscribe for my phone (Android) but as he is not at the same address he will need a subscription, but first...
Will he be able to listen to his music from his phone through the cars audio AND use CA at the same time. Either without or with SYNC?
Thanks |
