And doesn't look like they've decided to add many / any more active lane guidance, which is criminal considering they advertise it as a "feature" but driving 40-50k per year have seen it once!

A switch would be useful if there was any where - it's the only reason I still update my Garmin over my TomTom! _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

Hi Xtraseller
Thanks for the Heads up - now downloaded successfully - one difference this time.
When I downloaded 2014.30 last year I downloaded it via Garmin Express on to the microsd card, as it said that insufficient space was available - this time it has just copied it to the GPS itself, showing 778 mb free of 3.72 gig, and the microsd card is empty showing 7.27 gig free of 7.27 gig!!
So something has happened in this download that is smaller than last time, and it automatically downloads just to the GPS - presumably?

If there's space Express will put the map on the satnav itself. Just check it has installed the map you were expecting, not Western Europe for example if you wanted the whole of Europe.
As far as I can tell there is no reduction in size, so either you have a smaller map area this time or space has been freed up somewhere along the line.

They've probably been busy removing all the active lane guidance that was is their Navigon / Nokia map data! _________________ TomTom Go Live 6100, 600

Well, something has been removed - that's for sure - as I entered on this forum what I was left with last time, and why it had to go on to the microsd card, and I have more space left now than then!!
"After doing the update I checked on my pc as to what was available on both the 1440T and the sd card - it told me that it had 2.15 gb free of 3.62 gb on the 1440T, and 5.04 gb free of 7.27 gb on the sd card, indicating that the download was 2.23 gb, and just too large for the remaining capacity on the 1440T"
Any thoughts - all of my favourites were still there, and I added another one last night as a test - plus I haven't deleted any superfluous files yet!!
