can everyone who has bought this software e-mail magellan and tell them we don't use LAT/LON as a reference in the UK, especially as this software is supposed to be OS enabled? and demand a software update for topo-UK to enable this easy facillity on our PC's. I really don't see the point of this laziness as my sportrak color has the facillity to use either referencing system, whilst a PC based system, with infinitely more memory, has a totally meaningless referencing system to the majority of map users in the UK!!!! |

How about this: All the world predominantly uses Lat/Lon, and only a small minority on an island in the north of Europe uses OS coordinates for topo navigation. (Incidentially the same people use Lat/Lon for street navigation).
Try to see it more from a global angle, please. _________________ Lutz

well, what a patronising you are! i'm talking about the topo-uk... in the uk we have OS grid referencing, which i like. when a software producer creates topographic maps of the UK enabled by OS then it should support OS! I suggest you find something more productive to do than try to browbeat ' a little islander'. you idiot. |

I think you are confusing the map source (Ordnance Surveys) with the map datum. Just because the map provider is OS this doesn't mean they have to provide them in OS datum.
Please consider changing the tone of your replies. I can take a joke, but insults are rarely contributing to the forum. _________________ Lutz

all i'm saying is that it is an oversight of major proportions in relation to the expectations of the software. I have a good grasp of datum/co-ordinates, and my sportrak color has countless combinations of them. the point is, why doesn't the mapsend topo software have this facillity? it would have taken no time at all to add the simple conversion software at the time of development. a lot of people in the UK who buy this software will be expecting this facillity because it says OS Enabled, and they won't get it!
It is apparant you are not an idiot, and i appologise for that, I was however not joking, and the tone of my outburst was merely a knee jerk reaction to what i considered to be a rather pius reply, as I also, am not an idiot. |

Hi, I have no Idea why this software is unavailable now? especially as you say, there seems to be no topo software for the new explorist range!
Major blunder.
It would be nice to think that there was something else about to be released, however, I have heard nothing. |
