That's weird!

I've been having all sorts of different messages from Camera Manager recently (POI directory invalid, Cannot log in to PGPSW, etc as well as the download error). I'm using windows 7 professional. I also noticed that my username was corrupt in the 'Account' tab of CM (had extra characters?). Fixed this, but no improvement. Kept correcting the POI directory location (it wouldn't find it even though it appeared to be the correct directory path). Still no improvement.

In desperation I changed the properties of the Camera.exe file to NOT run in XP compatibility mode (used to work like that didn't it?), but kept 'Run as Administrator' and it suddenly sprang into life!

Very odd! Anyone else had success, or am I deluding myself?

'Run as Administrator' can solve a lot of problems as it opens up certain Windows directories to read/write status.

Under a limited user it's often read only.

No change here. Tried earlier versions old CM all fail in the same way. I do believe it is associated with the new server configuration in that the file downloaded is not recognised by CM.

Sorry, been away.

I was deluding myself. The change I made meant that CM was not even attempting to download files! So of course I got no error messages.

So the problem is not fixed.

I have given up on this. Kremmen's program is better anyway when you get used to it.

Can you provide details of that please? I am getting frustrated with the non-working one from Ash as well. Disappointing as I liked it very much.

As one of the poor foot soldiers who simply uses, sorry, used, this program, and depended on it, could I add a plea for this current issue to be fixed ASAP.

Ash10. That's great news. Is there an updated version we need to download??

The link still shows 3.6 final. Interesting to know what the issue was a PGPSW said that nothing had been changed from their side although the workaround to download CM3 files was a big help.

Yes, it has worked! Many thanks.

Only slight snag is that the Camera Manager icon keeps flashing and states updates are ready for installing. This may not be a related problem though!

I am not seeing any new files in my Garmin POI directory. I have been manually downloading a zip file, renaming it and then placing a copy in this directory to trick the CM into working. Every week or when every it checks the old files get removed. I have not updates for a few weeks as the changes in Perth Australia are not that often.

Should I be seeing files?

I am also getting the flashing icon to tell me Updates are ready to be installed. Sorry to be a pain but it will be nice to not have to manually download the file and rename.

Thanks for working on getting it back working again - you only really miss the great little programs when they stop working.
