The installation procedure starts normally, and when I choose Software installation, I get the following message on the PC: "Processor type unrecognised. 2577 or OS (3421)"

What version of ActiveSync are you running ? Is it 3.71 ? If so, downgrade to 3.6 and you hopefully will be fine. AFAIK the processor types haven't changed in SE, but I don't have SE here to test it with.

Also if you are running a software firewall on your PC, you may want to temporarily disconnect yourself from the internet and any local network and then temporarily disable the firewall just in case this is having a problem as the firewall can block communication to the ActiveSync Port.

Hi Dave,

I tried both doungraded the Activesync, and desabled the firewall, and the result remains unfortunatlly the same as above.
Which surprises me is I didn't have any installation prob. with my old HP2210.

Anyway, many thanks for your reply.

By the way, I have encountered almost the same prob. with GPSAssist, after installation, it wouldn't work. I have a message erreor. That too worked fine on my old PDA. Any idea?

Cheers

Hi!
I experience exactly the same problem as Samali here when I try to install D3 on my new Ipaq HX4700 (running AS 3.7.1)

The installation software on computer says:
"Processor type unrecognised. 2577 or OS (3421)"

If anyone got it to work pls tell us Smile

You can also fix the problem by making a one line change to destinator's default.ini file (in DestinatorApps\Australia\ConsAU for the Australian version, for example). Here are links to two posts which discuss the change:
