I don't receive any notifications about the speed cameras while the program works in the background. While driving I prefer my media player to be on the main screen of the Android smartphone. Something wrong with my settings or this is the way the program works? |

Nope, it should run in the background. What device and Android version are you using?

May be unrelated, but I have an S3 as well, and this sometimes happens to me.
If CA loads before there is a GPS fix, and I load another App onto the front, sometimes CA does not work. When I bring CA to the front, I find that the green box bottom left is grey and CA is not tracking. I have to press the grey box for it to go green, and all is OK.
Doesn't always happen, but maybe I'm doing something the wrong way around? _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

I've had CA do the same on my SGS3 but always put it down to me doing something, at least the fix is obvious (when you know what you're looking for) & easy. The worst for me is when I get a phone call & finish up with terrible feedback (howlaround) if CA kicks in & I lose the call _________________ Galaxy Note 4 / TomTom GO : CamerAlert : CoPilot |

Are you able to download the database updates?
Under settings there is a development options tab, in which there is a check box for '"Don't keep activities" (destroy every activity as soon as user leaves it)'.
Please can you make sure that this is NOT selected and then the database update will work correctly.
(from the FAQs: http://www.cameralert.com/faqs/ )

It's under the SETTINGS for the phone, not for the App.
On my S3 it's almost at the bottom, you have to scroll down to see it. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

Ah ha, that is a little old now (sorry), not an option then possibly.
It may be under a different option, I don't know.
My version is 4.1.1 and I think there is another one after that now.
That's the trouble with technology, hardly anything is backward compatible, try and buy a tape deck these days, or replace a DVD player. No chance if you have Betamax. I have a Maxtor 500Gb hard drive and the Mac laptop won't recognise it, and can't find a work around at the moment.
Sorry about the OT. _________________ Triumph Tbird 1700. And now a Bonnie T100. |

The option/setting mentioned was only added in ICS (Android 4) so older versions will not have it (or be affected by it)
