"not available to smartphone users" is doing us a favour, I wouldn't use it even if they gave it away free!!

I agree completely but it's just the principle involved. I wouldn't even consider TomTom if any of the competition could match them when it comes to routing algorithms. From a feature point of view I reckon Sygic is far better but their routing does tend to be a bit wierd at times and the voice commands are a bit on the verbose side

Actually, right now, I'm running only two - 550 LIVE and Carminat built in. I keep suffering the odd withdrawal symptom, so I'm keeping my 520 charged up and I have a ONE on standby on the shelf in my computer room. Very Happy

If you only run one at a time, how on earth do you know if it's telling you the right route? Do you believe all the TomTom sales stuff as well? Twisted Evil

Au contraire!
I've spent all summer getting headaches listening to two or three of them all arguing about the amount of traffic on my routes. It's enough to make you ignore the lot of 'em and just go the way you your wife tells you.

We were on a European coach trip a couple of years ago, with two drivers, each with their own satnav. So many arguments about which way to go. And so many times completely missing the turn we needed off the motorway - which in France means many miles to retrace (AND missing the bar at our destination . Evil or Very Mad !)

Yer all a bunch of amateurs. I have only one with sound turned on, glance at the other/s for comparisons.

If they disagree, executive decision and I'm the only, sole executive, no problem (and no criticisms or arguments, the benefit of being my own [really lovely] boss). Had it happen today on M4 eastbound - TMC said 45 mins delay, Live said 62 mins delay and offered 25 mile detour (costing extra 2+ litres of fuel). I told 'em both to shutup and drove straight through! My boss thinks I'm wonderful.

That's easy, I run the BMW built-in Sat Nav against the TomTom Android app & I know the BMW will suggest something totally mad so where the TomTom leads I follow, within reason & provided it's not down a stupidly narrow road, across a 4' deep ford or off a dock of course Rolling Eyes
