|
|
I have a new model road angel, an iPaq 3870, TomTom navigator 3 software, the memory card, and the holux cable to connect it all up.
I have installed the software on the iPaq, and it runs ok, but I cannot get it to pick up the Road angel as the GPS device.
In the road angel, the GPS output is ON, and on the TomTom GPS settings on the iPaq, the device is set to NMEA 0183v2 (with the corresponding baud rates set on both).
TomTom will just not pick up the road angel and so the whole thing just does not work!
Could someone please help me with this, I;d be very greatful of any advice you can offer!
Thanks |

Which port on the iPaq are you using? This should be COM1 on the TT GPS application. Have you ticked the box on the left on the same tab? |

I am using the port on the base of the iPaq, Com 1 I assume.
And yes, I have selected Com 1 on the TT GPS screen, and ticked the box too.
It still does not recognise any GPS input. |

Have you tried the Winfast Navigator diagnostics program (see downloads page on this site) to see if it picks up the output from the New Road Angel?
If it doesn't then it points to either the cable or RA2 itself. |

hi.
thanks for your info, I have now tried the winfast software on the pda and it does not receive any signal either, so as you say, it might be the cable.
I have contacted Holux, and am sending it in to have it tested.
Any other ideas, please let me know though! |

I have original road angel and you have to enable GPS output in the menu.
Don't know if this applies on the new model.
Also when updating road angel database you need to disable this gps output otherwise it wont connect.
all the best. _________________ Iphone & Copilot (Retired- Ipaq 2210 ROM1.10.07, TTN5), Road Angel and occasionally TT one |
