Having so far only used my A10 whilst walking, I'm considering doing some cycling and using it for that. A bike mount would obviously be useful - but at 32 quid?!
Is it really worth that, and has anyone come up with a satisfactory cheaper alternative - maybe DIY? _________________ Roger

Well I have got three and yes they work and are very good at holding the A10,but worth £32,then no they aren't but they weren't that when I bought them I think Satmap had a deal on at the time.
As for DIY then you could always get a GPS case from the likes of Ortlieb and attach to the top of a barbag by some means.
It all depends on whether you want it in sight at all times or just to consult it now and again.

It probably doesn't help much but I bought the Vehicle mount @21pounds (currently reduced to 15) and the cycle bracket @15pounds. So I justified the 36 pound price to myself because I was getting two mounts!
The Cycle mount is a quality product though. Rock solid and considering that it is the only thing between your SatMap and the ground ..... _________________ Garmin Nuvi 2599

There seem to be quite a few items in the Klickfix range. Which specific one did you have in mind?
How does it attach to the A10, bearing in mind that the Satmap Bike Mount comes with a replacement battery cover with a moulded-in attachment point? _________________ Roger

It's called the mini adapter, and fits frame, bars or stem. The moulded bit on the battery cover is in fact a copy of the Rixen Kaul system, and so fits exactly. It's a while since I got mine, but I think it may have come from St Johns Cycles. |

But according to the other thread referred to by AliOnHols in the previous post, it's OK if you've already got the special battery back which comes with a Satmap bike mount, but not a lot of use otherwise. Am I missing something? _________________ Roger

You still need the new back. I got mine separately, but that was several years ago. |
