Just come in to up date my 750L and wifes 740L
-- found that I seem to be forced to accept the update of the Application 9.400
Cant un tick the box, scary don't like being "forced" to do things.
So came on here before doing so.
Has any one had any problems
-- apart from layouts etc which we should be able to live with.
-- with the actual down load of the Application on the 750L and the 740L devices.
That is all that panics me -- if the download goes pear-shape..
We have
Application 9.061 on the 750L
and
Application 9.058 on the 740L
Will they "crash"
should I back up the device before downloading..
I normaly do any way. but have no idea of how to restore if things go wrong.

That one is always a must do before making any major changes or downloads _________________ Garmin Drive 51LMT-S EU
(TT One V3 512MB + RDS TMC UK&RoI v1005 now retired, dead due to withdrawal of manufacturer support)
Also after update have to click legal notice every time at start up. Unless there is a way to disable this that I haven't noticed.
That SHOULD only happen after a re-boot (eg after a software update), not after every start-up.
Are you sure it's happening on a normal switch on?
I'm using a 550 Live, and since installing 9.400 I get the legal notice displayed once after disconnecting from Home, but not then after every normal start-up.
It's not a great problem, just another little annoying quirk that TT has thrown at us.
In my experience, the legal notice has always come up after connecting to HOME with an XL LIVE and a 920.

As long as your map is stored on the PC I wouldn't bother with a full back up just to update the Navcore as it's possible to download one of the earlier Navcore software builds and install it to your device using WinRar, the downside with this new update is every time you connect to Home you will be forced to update the device to the newer version.
Instructions on how to roll back the Navcore will be posted on here unless the bugs in the new version get resolved ASAP as it's not difficult to do - Mike

All that panic!!
Done them both and they both work OK -- cant see - yet any difference in the screens
-- Had to switch back on the phones.. I think the blue tooth had turned off during the download.
-- also the warning sounds associated with POI's had disapeared as well
-- I use different Beeps for "our" speed cameras etc. Had to re-do them.
Both devices start now with the white warning screen
-- of doo's and don'ts
-- and also one about sending stuff to Tom-Tom
-- If you don't agree your "live" stuff wont work !! bit of a cheek that is..
Did do the back-up before starting
-- both devices now on App 9.400
Thanks for your help

So sorry for the terrible inaccuracy.... When I said 'after a re-boot', I also meant after connection to Home.
(I only ever connect to Home to do a software update, so I always get a re-boot straight after). _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-)

Connected my G950Live at 12 noon. Downloaded everything on offer, namely Application 9.400 (1020, 1/2/2012, Map Europe v885.4008 and all the Safety camera updates. Took just over 45 minutes and after the standard reboot everyting looks OK. All Favs still in place, Noticed that the two drives on the device are now correctly named as Memory Card and Internal Memory, something that has been bugging me for some time; I notice too that on the Speed Camera page (Live Services - Speed cameras) it shows the information that "Speed Cams are up to date" - that's helpful, as I never knew if they were or were not.
I cannot find any way of doing a Route Demo ! Was it available on this device as I also have a GO1000Live on which it definiltly works (View route - Show route Demo)
Now to test the mapping etc But, so far so good. _________________ Gee-Pee

Route demo is certainly working on my 750 Live, plan route, details, show demo.
Also, and this may be coincidence, but my device hasn't re-booted itself since updating the Navcore on Wednesday, and no hands free phone calls have crashed either. Both of these problems would normally occur at least once a day.

Gee-Pee...
I don't have that model of course but, once you plan a route, are you taken to a screen where the route is shown? If so, is there a button such as 'options' or 'details' at the bottom? If 'yes' and you select it, is there an icon for a demo there? _________________ David

Thanks David. I hadn't used that one for some time and had forgotten where that was. You are right and now I can check the speed cams. _________________ Gee-Pee
