Is there an easy way to merge two categories into one within the database? | By the magic of database wizardry, it has now been done.

Brilliant! Many thanks.
Now, if I could be so bold, can I suggest another one? Alliance Pharmacy was taken over by Boots a while ago, so this is another name that has disappeared from the High Street/local shopping parades. As it was a predominantly a pharmacy, I believe that Alliance should be merged into the Boots Dispensing category. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

Did Boots re-badge all the Alliance pharmacies? _________________ Richard

Oh dear
Not all Somerfields were rebranded to Co-Op. Where there was already an existing Co-Op in the local area a decision had to be made which of the stores was to be retained. Many existing Somerfileds were sold to other retailers. Our Somerfiled became a Budgens.

Don't forget to submit a change for your local. _________________ Richard

There used to be around 775 Somerfields on the PGPSW database, all of which were wrong, because Somerfield doesn't exist any longer. In one fell swoop, around 640 of these have been corrected, leaving potentially 130 wrong - which were already wrong in the first place. I don't think it's a bad return for a relatively quick piece of work.

If you Google Alliance Pharmacy, it takes you to the Boots web site. There is still an Alliance Store Locator, but it only takes you to Bing Maps (the Boots Store Locator works fine). There is a page listing all the different types of stores which goes into all the variations of Boots, but doesn't mention Alliance at all.
The OFT site that Rick-uk pointed to does indicate that 96 Alliances were sold off, but using the same argument as above, 96 wrong out of 925 that are already incorrect is a pretty good rate of return. _________________ Garmin DriveSmart 50 LMT-D |

I'll put in a request accordingly. _________________ Richard
