|
|
Hi all, I'm considering replacing my ageing TomTom Go930 with a more up-to-date unit.
What I need to know is do the newer units have EPT? (Enhanced positioning technology) As this was a very useful feature for me as I drive in Switzerland/Italy a lot and there are plenty of tunnels. Strange to see it's not mentioned for any of the newer units.
I'll probably go for the 1005, but the whole range looks very confusing
Many thanks for any help.

I'll bet the experienced users here will probably reply with "Don't fix what ain't broke".
Unless there are functiojnal issues with your 930, there is no reason to upgrade. NONE of the newer models come close to the feature set of the 930. _________________ David |

940 or 950 were the last models that had the EPT fitted, if you value the mp3 player and FM Tx then try and find a 940 Live as that was the last of the decent models IMHO with a full set of features - Mike |

I'd gladly stick with it to be honest, but the RDS-TMC simply does not work any more? Did TomTom switch off/disable it recently?

Here's an even better comparison list from the US-based TomTomForums.com. It includes both US and UK/European models.
Click Here for the Reference Guide (its a zipped download of a spreadsheet in Excel format). _________________ "Settling in nicely" ;-) |
