|
|
Navigon MobileNavigator for iPhone users can take advantage of a huge update to the app free of charge.
Available in the appstore now, version 1.80 provides a map update and the launch of 'Reality Scanner' and 'Traffic Check' as well as the option to upgrade to 'Truck and Caravan Navigation'.
Reality Scanner displays Points of Interest as an overlay using the iPhone camera as a live view with further POI information available via a click and navigation to POIs also being offered in the Augmented Reality view. Perfect for pedestrian modes.
Traffic Check gives users a short overview of the traffic situation ahead when planning a route and shows road-works, congestion and other hazards. More detailed information is available via Traffic Live, available as an in-app purchase.
And perfectly times for the holidays, Truck and Caravan Navigation upgrades the app to provide routes that cater specifically for larger vehicles with profiles for length, weight and height. Routes will avoid low bridges, narrow roads or roads with weight restrictions and the upgrade also provides content from the Michelin Hotel and Restaurant Guide.
Navigon MobileNavigator for iPhone is available with a 33% discount off the full purchase price until 28 April.

I bought the truck and caravan add on and now every time I open the application, I have to login with my Apple login and password. Sure I never had to before. Am using OS 4.3.1.
Any ideas please?

That's normally an iPhone issue. Have you tried rebooting the phone? _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi Doug - glad to see you back with Navigon after all this time
Several people report this on the Navigon Facebook page. If it's itunes login, someone has suggested "You probably made an in-app purchase just make sure you are sign out in the App Store on your iPhone or iPad. " (Don't know if they are right though ) _________________ David

Truck and Caravan is an in-app purchase. The issue is a symptom of some other problem with the Appstore account.
If a reboot doesn't fix it, sign out of your Appstore account (Appstore/Top 25 - scroll to bottom & tap account) and then sign back in. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Hi guys,
David- never been away, just lurking nowadays. Well, tried what you suggested, both rebooting and logging out/in and still the same. It is the Apple login it wants. It's a pain as it comes up after about 20 seconds and you have to enter it or can't use the app until you do.
Is this something to do with piracy of apps I wonder? I spent £59.99 on this!
Have emailed Navigon but they will no doubt blame Apple. _________________ Returned to a proper Garmin although still have Co-Pilot on a Galaxy S3! |

It's not a Navigon issue and it's not meant to happen but sometimes Appstore gets stuck in a loop.
The other solution is to remove Navigon then re-install and re-authorise the in-app purchase. _________________ Darren Griffin |

Doug - try this. Navigon posted it on Facebook just a few hours ago: Quote: | Hi guys, please uninstall the software once and download it again. Then it should work without query a password. |

Deleted and reinstalled. Restored purchases and all now fixed! Thanks guys, I always forget the logical routes.
Looking at the price now of the application (£19.99), don't know why I paid nearly £60 for the caravan add-on! That's not an add on but a full application price. Better buy a caravan now!!!! Lol _________________ Returned to a proper Garmin although still have Co-Pilot on a Galaxy S3! |

The current £19.99 is a promotional price. It's usually £39.99 for British Isles version.

David - thanks, did as Darren said but thanks anyway. Even at the full price, the add on is nearly double that price. So not really an add-on. Jumped in with my eyes shut as usual!!
Thanks guys. _________________ Returned to a proper Garmin although still have Co-Pilot on a Galaxy S3! |

Abject apologies Darren . One of those many times when I was in the middle of a post I was doing, and went off to do something else - never think of refreshing the page when I get back!
But anyway, I would have thought you would have felt complimented (but not necessarily surprised) that your answer was right AND beat Navigon's official response ! _________________ David

It's happened to me once or twice with other apps and games. Seems to be caused by some glitch when authorising the purchase and it gets stuck in a loop. _________________ Darren Griffin |
