Apparently this update is NOT for the 3G, and I have seen reports that there are security issues if installed on one, or earlier Touches, see here:

I must admit I didn't do a search but I looked on the Apple GPS devices forum and didn't see a thread.
Just done a quick search and still couldn't find another one.
Have you installed it yet Paul? Any problems? _________________ Mike

Wednesday night actually
Also, Apple no longer sell the 3G so therefore no longer provide updates. The original iPhone hasn't had any updates since iOS 3. I presume it's a "user experience" thing - 3G struggles with iOS4 as it is so no point adding new features to old hardware that can't handle it.

Tuesday night? I checked on Wednesday after installing the latest iTunes. No update until Thursday morning.
Installed Thursday evening and no problems so far. Limited changes for me really.
Don't forget to do a backup before you update! Right click your device in iTunes and select Backup. |

Yeah, my recollection was iTunes update Tuesday / Wednesday and no update offered until today for iOS, no big deal.
I'm all updated and working now so will see if anything jumps out at me! _________________ Mike

Navmii is now broken for me under iOS 4.3 ...
The program launches and calculates a route but every time you get vocal instructions to turn left or right the program crashes.
Does it do this for anyone else?
I've rebooted and even deleted the app and reinstalled but it still crashes. As it's no longer on the iTunes store I guess there's little chance of an update ...
So what to go for TomTom, Co-Pilot or Navigon? |
