TomTom Via 120. Plan a route. Tap screen - Show Map of Route ...
Map extends off top of screen, and off the right side of screen, with just a hint of the zoom bar. Bug/fix?

Try to 'pinch' the screen with your thumb and finger.
And expand the screen by spreading out the action of your thumb & finger.

Is there a magnifying glass shown?

This has always been like that on my device (admittedly not exactly the same one as yours). Do you have the magnifier icon on the screen on the right hand side? If so, just tap and hold that magnifier then just slide it up or down to increase/decrease the map screen magnification.
As soon as you realease the icon, the magnification scale slides back out of sight, as you describe.
Works for me

Thanks - the zoom level is not the problem. It's that the magnifying glass is mostly off the right hand side of the screen, and only a small edge of it is visible, so it can't be used for zooming.

Oddly, the 'Done' button at the bottom of the screen appears OK (I'm comparing this with the image on p24 of the Via user manual - sorry, tried just pasting the image but can't get it to work)

Ah! Now I understand. It's the magnifyer off the screen not the Zoom bar (which is normally hidden). That does seem to be a reportable fault if you are up-to-date with the application software. Not seen that one Sad

As MaFt says, have you the latest application? Which one have you got ?

Will check the app version tonight - it's my wife's unit ... though MyTomTom reports everything up to date (and I have seen postings on here about this)

If you can post (or email) a picture of the TomTom screen, showing the problem, it would be very useful, and it can be reported to TomTom.

Out of interest, does the 'pinch zoom' work? (that dhn mentioned above)

App 10.060.586892.46 (0)(6002, 12/10/2010)

Pinch/zoom doesn't do anything.

How to do a screen grab on the Via? I know how on the 'older' units

TT haven't released a method to get a screen grab on the Via yet, so I think it's down to taking a photo of the screen!

OK - the image shows the edge of the magnifier which can just about be operated by a long fingernail ... (I think if you click on the image it should show it bigger)

it's a known bug with build 6002. there were at least 2 subsequent builds released after this that don't have the bug. quite why the device shipped with this i'm not sure, or rather why myTomTom isn't giving an update!
