|
|
Hi,
can anyone recommend a good POI for campsites in France and Germany?
looking to head over to eastern france & western germany, and just "hop" around - i.e. not pitch up for a full week.
Not done this before, and not looking to pre-book (thus keeping options open), but it would be handy to have POI files available to look to see where we're near each afternoon.
thanks for any help.
regards,

Not sure about POI's but perhaps you could get a campsite catologue with adresses in? |

Also, France is very good for reasonable municipal camp sites in many places, but don't know if you'll find a POI for them. Quote: | http://www.lonelyplanet.com/thorntree/thread.jspa?threadID=1550281 | has some info you might find useful. _________________ David

http://www.poihandler.com/ has a huge number of Campsite etc POIs, but some of them don't exist when you get there. It is useful if you pick and choose carefully though. _________________ TT Go Essential |

I have produced a full list of all the Caravan Club inspected camp sites in Europe as a vwry small POI file and can email you a copy if you wish. Alternatively, they are on the TomTom HOME site where there is a selection of different sorts of camping places in France and Germany - for instance all the German Stellplatz locations and all the French Aires.
Edit: Connect your device to HOME. Add Traffic Voices etc. Open Point of Interest. Search for Caravan sites - mine is entitled Europe Caravan Club Sites 2010. Download to your device. _________________ Gee-Pee

Moved to POI forum as it may have wider interest - not just for TomTom campers. |

Also davidb67, djchapple in Quote: | What do these lettere mean - relating to Aires? | seems to have some French Aire POIs which include campsites - don't know if they could be of any use to you? (but you're probably up to your eyes in them by now with all the other suggestions! ) _________________ David
