Hi Guys,

Been using the Cameralert for a while now, top job Smile

There is a funny on the average speed cameras on the M1, As you head north through the 20 mile SPECS section approaching Junction 28 you get an 'All Clear' while still 2 (I think) cameras from the end of the roadworks.

It says 'All Clear', then about half a mile further on warns of the 50MPh average again.

there is a camera on the slip road at junction 27 northbound which the app is probably assuming is the end camera from the main carriageway - the direction of travel is pretty much the same so it is practically impossible for the app to differentiate...

i COULD mark it as a middle camera o the averaging continues and set the database to cancel the averaging once the user has driven onto the roundabout but then, technically, the database would be incorrect...

any thoughts on this?!

Hi,

Yeah, I thought it may be something like this. Problem at the moment is that if you don't know the road (and I spend most bloody days on it), you'll get the all clear, accelerate then get caught by the next camera Sad

Personally, I'd rather have a slightly incorrect (but safer) database.

Thanks

Iain

M1 J25 to J28 now 4 lanes and clear of roadworks and hence cameras, BUT new variable speed cameras are installed at gantries at various points, I understand these will work as per the M42 ones, but the assumption is that if not showing anything on the matrix they are set at 70 ?

I don't think they are in database yet ? but I may have had the Navigon on last time and it is alerting traffic control, so I could be wrong but thought it worth a post anyway.

in which case DO NOT SUBMIT THEM! unless there are cameras on them. a gantry does not mean a camera...
