You must be the chosen one!
At least it shows it is on the way
Is it safe to assume that the new maps will NOT be release over a weekend? _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

The site has had their domain name frozen for some reason,
You have to take the hyphen out of their address to find them at the moment... |

ALL SWEEPSTAKE BETS ARE OFF!!! The TT support site is "down", which means somebody made a mistake and forgot to release the new maps BEFORE they trashed the website.
It also means that I technically won the sweepstake as I went for last thing Friday before the website would be trashed.
The question now is when will it be 00:01 on Monday for the site to be alive and the maps to be available? Or will that be at 09:00 on Monday, in which case when will it be 09:00 on Monday - GMT, EST, MPT, GPS, RDS-TMC or which timezone? _________________ Dennis

In truth, what does it really matter?
Whenever they are released they are bound to have inaccuracies, that is inevitable. Users will complain as is their right.
Don't get me wrong, I am normally one of those people that jump in feet first with new technology. I remember paying £425 for one of the first v.34 analogue MODEMS. In its day that was a major jump in dial-up speed.
They will be released when they are released, end-of. _________________ Cracking Toast Gromit!

Pretty good as 9.053 has been released for the XL LIVE as I predicted after a new version of HOME - new maps will be tonight or tomorrow I reckon. |

I saw on another forum that somebody had been told by TomTom that they were having a problem because of the size of the new maps so they would be delayed for a couple of weeks

Bit of a pain if your subscription expires between now and when they do get released as they are now a week late based on a strict quarterly release cycle. |

I don't think they ever promised a "strict" quarterly program by date.
The originnal offer was for four updates wasn't it? |

There's somebody asking for the chop! TomTom don't have problems, they have issues and challenges.
They've had issues and challenges with the size of new maps ever since they incredibly decided to build devices with approximately 1 pixel greater memory than was needed by the first maps and loadsa pixels less than the "new" maps. _________________ Dennis

True, but there is a possibility that some people will only get 3 updates if maps are not released every 3 months. If one of the releases 'slips' to 3 1/2 or 4 months then someone somewhere will miss out. In the rolling year there would only have been 3 updates. |
