|
|
Hi, I hope someone can help me with this. I've just reinstalled Windows on my PC and am looking for the old version of TT Home. I know that's a bit vague, but I really have no idea which version it was.
It was very functional compared to the new look (Fisher Price) version the TomTom site gave me. I was able to copy and save the operating systems from different units and swap them from one to the other. This new version is very basic by comparison.
Any help gratefully received. _________________ TT 300 App 7.162, UK + Ireland v710

What are you trying to do as using Windows Explorer and WinRar along with specific downloads from the servers at TomTom can be far more controllable than going anywhere near Home if you are wanting to run a Navcore intended for a different device - Mike |

I think the one I just installed is 1.6, it's one of those "user friendly" type things that won't let you get to grips with anything much.
I've currently got a 710 system running on my 510, not sure how it ended up that way but there we have it. I had several different versions stored and was playing around with them, but think it's probably best to put it back to normal. _________________ TT 300 App 7.162, UK + Ireland v710

The only difference when purchased new was the Map that was installed, Western Europe for the 710 and UK for the 510.
It is possible to pick & mix the maps for the X10s. _________________ Richard

The 510 and 710 are identical devices that run the exact same software, the only difference was the 510 came with UK&ROI maps whereas the 710 had the much larger Western_Europe map installed on a higher capacity memory card.
Even the ID plate on the base stated 710 on most 510 devices that were sold so if your unit thinks its a 710 I would ignore it to be honest - Mike |

Ah, so not the result of my obsessive tinkering after all then, (unlike the need to reinstall windows :'( never mess with .Net framework, it bites.)
Well I guess that's that bit solved, thanks very much, but I would still prefer to use the old version of TTHome, I found it a lot easier.
any ideas? _________________ TT 300 App 7.162, UK + Ireland v710
