Hello all. I'm new here and specifically to the GPS world, though not to the tech world.
I was hoping to receive a little help/advice.
I just bought a HTC Touch HD2 with GPS (windows mobile 6.5).

I'm an avid hiker/climber in CO and I'm hoping to use this device in lieu of purchasing a dedicated GPS device.

I'm looking for some mapping/tracking software for it.
It doesn't need to be free.
I'd like to be able to do these things:
* When i'm out see where i am on a terrain map, preferably 1:24000.
* See trails on the map.
* See current altitude in the software, distance traveled, etc...
* Download my traveled route later on.

The last 3 aren't required, but would be nice.

Any help would be appreciated.

-Tony

Welcome to the forum, have a look at Memory map but double check it will work on your PDA phone due to the screen resolution, another far cheaper option to consider is Quo, especially as you want 25K scale maps as this cost a fortune if you purchase large areas in one go.

Quo is a little basic on the PDA but works great on the PC for planning routes - I have used Quo in the Yorkshire dales on a PDA and it was great for position displayed on the map, but some of the other options you are looking for would dictate the more costly Memory Map - Mike
