I subscribe to the map update service, and downloaded the latest Western Europe map onto my Go300. Unfortunately my laptop shut down when it was copying the map to the SD card. I managed to find the maps on the PC, and copy them over to recover it all. I have since updated the maps again using TomTom Home again. If I run an update, Home tells me everything is up to date, but the message in the top right still says "Newer Version of your map are available".
Does anyone know why please?? TIA |

What version of map have you got installed to the device?
Tap the sat strength meter followed by the version box and the reultant screen will show you whats installed/ active on the device the current map is v845, I would ignore what Home is telling you as its well known to miss report version numbers, its whats on the device that counts - Mike |

Thanks for your reply. I have App Version 7.903 and "Western_Europe" v675.1409. If I go on just the app version it may be out of date, however I have an old Go300 so don't expect the latest app verson, just the latest map.
Is this the latest version? I notice TomTom are doing 18 months of subscription for the price of 12. Perhaps they're pushing that? |

Just a thought, try Manage Maps, switch maps. Map v675.1409 is April 2007! _________________ Dennis

Something definitely wrong here. As Dennis says your current map is ancient, the latest is v845.
You say that you subscribe to the Map Update Service, have you just joined it so this is the first time you've downloaded a map or did you think you'd updated before?
Check on switch maps to see if there is more then one on the Go, if not we need to look at your PC to see what has been downloaded. |

Western_Europe is the only map on my TomTom so I can't switch maps!
On my PC I have .....\My Documents\TomTom\HOME\Download\complete\map
followed by
Map_Of_Western_Europe dated 02/01/2009
Western_Europe-1 dated 30/05/2009
Western_Europe-2 dated 05/09/2009
Western_Europe-3 dated 16/12/2009
Western_Europe_1GB dated 05/04/2009
Western_Europe-4 dated 26/02/2010
Western_Europe dated 05/03/2010
Oh yes, I've been subscribing for 11 months now. TomTom Home has told me on a number of occasions that I need to download a new map and I have clicked on the relevant buttons to download the map.
Thanks for any advice! |

Well it seems like Home has managed to download all the maps you've paid for, but hasn't actually installed any of them to your Go!
Can I suggest you
1. connect the Go to the PC,
2. run 'Home',
3. select "Add Traffic, Voices etc. (not "Update my device")
4. scroll through the screens until you get to "Items on my computer" - select that.
5. (once it has loaded everything) click on the plus sign next to "Maps"
6. With a bit of luck there should be several versions listed, and by clicking on the "more info" link on each in turn, find the latest version.
7. Finally, click on "Add" to start the process of copying it to your Go.
Fingers crossed! |

Thanks - sorted! I think what I'd done is not used TomTom Home and when everything went wrong I copied the wrong map over myself. I looked at the date stamps and not the version numbers like I should have done. |
