Think this needs including in the next update. I just took a few pics of some cameras and then later on thought I would add them to the database. So when I selected add pic it would open up the camera app.
I then was unable to add my pics from the library and had to take a pic on the fly ! |

Just gone back to take a photo and when I've took the pic, scaled and the press done, the app crashes everytime. Even after a reset ! |

the idea is to send 'geotagged' photo's of the camera whil eyou are there as extra evidence of it's existance. if we allowed photo' from the library then we may as well ignore them. i'm not saying i don't trust you but it could easily be abused...

yes, unfortunately the camera app uses a lot of memory. It should be less of a problem on a 3Gs but on a 3G it's definitely hit and miss.
It would help to reboot the phone (or use a memory-freer-upper) but that's not a very practical approach.
The static pictures are geotagged too, so maybe we could try it out (allowing to add pictures from the library). But - will that use less memory? _________________ Lutz

Why? Surely they are still subject to verification? Most current reports don't give a photo at all, just coordinates and a description. Wouldn't a photo be helpful? _________________ David

Yes, if we know that it is a picture of the camera being submitted. The only way to ensure that is to take a photo during the submission.

remember you can add a photo later too. And at each occasion you can point the lens whereever you please (as we have seen from some submissions...).
I still like the idea. _________________ Lutz

If I look at a photo taken with my iPhone in Photoshop Elements and then read the file info, the GPS details and date/time stamp are recorded, would that not help? _________________ Mike
